How to Play the Arthurian Challenge

The goal of the game is to collect the necessary cards to spell EXCALIBUR.
Here is a sample card. If you answer the four questions correctly, you'll earn the "E" in Excalibur. Here is a sample question: In Mallory's Le Morte Darthur, who was put to school in a nunnery where "she learned so much that she became a great clerk of necromancy"?

Each player takes a card and tries to answer one of the four questions on the card.

The sample card shown here has the letter "E" on it. EXCALIBUR has one "E", so you'll need one "E" card.

The answers are on the back of each card. The answer to the question on the sample card is Morgan le Fay. You can find this information on page 4 of Volume 1 in Le Morte Darthur.

The answers to the questions are on the back of the card.

If you answer at least one question on the card correctly, you keep the card. If not, the card goes back into the deck.

When all the cards in the deck have been collected, each player can challenge the other players for cards they have. If the challenger correctly answers one question on the card, she gets the card.

The first player to collect the cards that spell EXCALIBUR wins the game.
